The Yelagiri Murugan Temple is situated on one of the highest points in Yelagiri. It is just 600m from the Yelagiri Boat House. Lord Murugan is the main deity of this temple. It is also called Velavan Temple. The hilltop offers a stunning view of lush greenery and nature’s beauty.
This temple was constructed in 1964. A gigantic statue of Bhima’s son, Ghathothgajan in standing posture is there at the entrance. There is a small temple for Lord Ganesha. To reach the top of the hill, you should climb rock cuts because there are no perfect steps.
