Jalakandeswarar Temple is located in the heart of Vellore city precisely within Vellore Fort. The temple is surrounded by water. Vijayanagara Empire made this temple in 1540 - 1572 AD in honor of lord Shiva also known as Lord Jalakandeswarar. Inside the temple, there are very detailed architectures of other Hindu Gods and Goddesses. In this temple, all the Adishakti Shiv, Vishnu, and Brahma belong together with their consorts Parvati, Lakshmi, and Saraswati.

Main Attraction of Jalakandeswarar Temple
Ganga Gouri Theertham: Ganga Gouri Theertham is a well inside the temple and people believed that the water inside the well is as powerful as Ganga’s water. This well’s water is used for breathing the dainty and this water is considered powerful for purification purposes.
Forever Burning Lamp: In front of the Akhilandeswari Mandap there are one big lamp and seven small lamps inside the temple. Those are believed to be burning from the year 1981. It is believed that if the devotees put some oil into the lamp and pray they will get the blessings from goddess Akhilandeswari.
